Women In Support Conference

The Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association (SEMSA), in partnership with Glasgow Life, Skills for Scotland and The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) hosted the Women In Sport Conference 2011.

The conference presented real experiences of minority ethnic women and their engagement in sport and physical activity and the factors that currently influence their involvement.

Workshops options:

  • “Women’s Participation” - An insight into the barriers and issues preventing minority ethnic women’s participation in sport.
  • “Don’t tell us – ASK US!!” – Scottish Women’s Active Pathways Project (SWAP) advisory group, methods of approach when engaging minority ethnic women, leading to models of proactive practice.
  • “Strategic Planning” – An in depth look at strategy and policy and how it reflects implementation.

The conference was a great success and the post-conference report will follow shortly.
